Research Analyst
As a Research Analyst at The Plakhov Group, Soha contributes to the Daily Ops team.
She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Western University and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from York University, along with a Certificate in Public Administration and Law. Her graduate research examined democratic backsliding through a comparative analysis of the United States, Hungary, and Turkey.
Professionally, Soha works across public affairs, policy, and strategic communications, with a strong foundation in research. She previously served as Event Coordinator and Junior Research Fellow at the NATO Association of Canada, supporting policy research and coordinating high-level conferences with senior policymakers, defence and security stakeholders, academics, and industry leaders. She has also worked as a Campaign Assistant for Member of Parliament Aslam Rana. Her published work examines emerging cyber threats to Canadian energy infrastructure, Arctic security, and disinformation campaigns.
She is also a Compliance Analyst with the G7 Research Group, contributing to the monitoring of G7 commitments related to Ukraine, and remains active in the policy and security community, including speaking on Arctic security at the Conference of Defence Associations Institute Graduate Student Conference.
Her research interests focus on geopolitics, international security and defence policy, Arctic sovereignty, information warfare, and climate security
